Rabin Paudel and Chris Beard working on trapping calcium ions during the summer 2007 student internships at Wabash College.

This research laboratory will investigate the quantum properties of nature through the use of single atomic ions trapped in an rf Paul trap.

We are currently working on trapping calcium ions in a small vacuum chamber. Future work in the lab includes building a larger vacuum system and working on photo-ionization of neutral calcium.
